Aging-kb

A knowledge base for the study
of the Aging process

Aging-kb is a cooperative project of the National Institute on Aging/NIH and the scientific community with the goal of conceptualizing research in the field of aging and providing direct links to definitions, supporting information, and the scientific literature. It is for educational and instructional use only.

Aging-kb is a knowledge base containing links to information from theories of Aging, to diseases of Aging, to animal models of Aging, to Aging interventions...

Aging-kb consists of two parts, the Aging-kb Tree and the Aging Wiki.

The Aging-kb Tree familiarizes you with the structure of the information in the knowledge base, while the Aging Wiki contains expert curated supporting information for each branch in the tree.

You get to the Aging Wiki by going through the Aging-kb Tree.

In the Aging-kb Tree each branch has links to outside information including PubMed, Wikipedia, the Aging Wiki, and other information sources. Many branches have links to a novel feature called PubMed Select. These are selected classical original papers for each branch in Aging research. For example, if you are interested in reading the original paper on the free radical theory of aging by Denham Harman, or other classical papers, click on PubMed Select in the Aging-kb Tree. Please email us suggestions of original or authoritative papers.
